Celebrating International Women’s Day. Lacrosse’s commitment to supporting women in the workplace
Today we celebrate International Women’s Day, a global holiday that celebrates the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women everywhere. This year the theme of the global holiday is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. What does this mean to us at Lacrosse
At Lacrosse we firmly believe that female employees who feel seen, understood, and empowered, will be more effective and committed to their work, which in turn will help our business and environment grow and flourish. By through promoting these best practices we aspire to achieve a positive impact on the broader community and Polish society at large. We recognise and embrace the reality that people increasingly want to work for companies that prioritize equality, inclusion and transparency. This also extends to partnering with supplier companies and vendors that share these values.
We also fully appreciate the challenges facing women in the workplace today when it comes to balancing the demands of work with other commitments. To this end we actively promote a flexible working model which is today embedded in our current and future working practices. Female staff are supported via among others, private healthcare benefits throughout pregnancy and the early years of motherhood through childcare leave, and are encouraged to consider a return to work only when they feel ready. We take a flexible approach to this, and provide the tools and training required for our female staff to return to work, whether it be on-site or as is increasingly the case by remote working from home, or via a hybrid model; whatever works best for them. Our goal is to reduce barriers to gender advancement in the workplace and to enhance long-term economic security among all of our employees and partners.
Encouraging female employees in the workplace, promoting a greater number of women to senior positions and management not only provides for better corporate outcomes within an organisation, but also sends a signal to broader society that these are worthy aims that make for a more inclusive, happier and positive environment for employees and stakeholders.
We wish all of you, especially our female friends and colleagues a Happy International Women’s Day wherever you are!
