Earlier in October Lacrosse Managing Director Lawrence Fahrenholz had the pleasure of attending the Meet Central Europe Annual Conference in the beautiful setting of Samorin Slovakia, by the banks of the Blue Danube.

The annual MCE Conference is co-organized by representatives of the four founding translation associations, namely from Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary. This year representatives from Poland were invited as a ‘spotlight country’ and the principal theme of the event was Inspiring Vendor Management; but much besides was discussed.

The three day event was an exceptional opportunity to get together in a single venue with industry professionals, LSP owners, managers and freelance translators from across the region and beyond. A wealth of presentations and panels took place covering among others market trends in vendoring, new productivity tools, skills such as providing feedback, empathy at work and personal growth models. Perhaps above all, though, the event as a fantastic setting simply to interact with peers and colleagues, learn and to develop friendships and networks.

Over 200 attendees came from a wide range of countries, from as far afield as the Baltics and the Balkans, Moldavia, to the UK.

Looking forward to further MCE events and conferences and to seeing old friends and making new acquaintances.
