In September 2022, Lacrosse provided translation services to a leading law firm that was involved in the restructuring process of a bank.
Over a two and a half week period, we prepared sworn and non-sworn translations of agreements, guarantees, certificates and other financial documents. Most of the translations were between Polish and English. Prior to the first documents being received, we discussed the client’s needs and expectations and set up clear instructions for what was to be delivered.
Client’s expectations:
Confidentiality was a key factor in the project. To prevent data leakage, Lacrosse ensured that the project was carried out in a secure IT environment and all team members involved signed an NDA.
The client asked for immediate deliveries of translated files and our team was on stand-by 24/7 to assist.
In order to ensure high quality and terminological consistency, the client asked for the same team of translators and reviewers to be involved in the project.
Our solutions:
- Confidentiality – all the client’s documents were marked confidential. All parties involved in the project, our employees, translators and reviewers, signed an NDA. The project was carried out in our safe IT environment which ensured that the data remained secure. Files were not sent by email to translators and reviewers. They worked directly on our server and it was not possible for them to download and save files.
- Availability – it was essential for the case team that our team was available 24/7. An emergency phone number for our Project Manager was given to the client. Once a document was ready, our client informed the Project Manager that a new file was available for translation. Despite the time period (after office hours, night time, weekends), our Project Manager was able to manage the project and allocate the work to the designated translators and reviewers. Once the file was ready, it was sent back to the client.
- Consistency and accuracy –consistency and accuracy of documents was crucial for all parties. The project combined terminology from both banking and finance.
Benefits:
Smooth and efficient management of the project and prompt delivery of the finished documents led to successful communication between all parties. The deadline was met and the documentation was submitted to the relevant financial institution.
With the prospect of the project continuing in the future, our Translation Manager created a term base and translation memory for use in further translations. This will enable us to translate the next batch faster and keep the translations consistent with the delivered documents.
